On the go teeth cleaning for braces
Wearing braces can make it difficult to keep your teeth and mouth clean; here are a few simple tips that can make it easier to keep your teeth clean while on the go!
• Be sure to brush your teeth regularly - keeping your teeth clean is even more important when you have braces. Brushing after meals can help you keep your braces clear of food and debris; we recommend travel-size toothbrushes and toothpaste so that you're all set wherever you are.
• Use the right tools - in addition to your toothbrush, you may want to use a proxabrush. This is a smaller brush that looks a lot like a pipe cleaner. It's very effective in removing food from beneath braces wires and around brackets. Use this tool to keep your braces clean and free of food debris when you're on the go.
• Don't forget to floss! Flossing is very important, especially when you have braces. Flossing at least once a day can help keep your gums healthy. If you are experiencing difficulties due to your braces, we advise flossing after each meal.
We recommend putting together a small kit that you can take with you when you're on the go. Floss, a travel-size toothbrush and some toothpaste, along with a proxabrush, are easy enough to carry throughout your day. By keeping your teeth clean on the go, you will help prevent any oral problems from developing. Wearing braces can be difficult sometimes, but by following these tips, your teeth and gums will stay healthy!
