Dentist vs. Orthodontist: What's the difference?

A dentist will begin their practice after receiving their degree and completing any residency experience required by their state or licensing board. At this time, an orthodontist will continue their education through a rigorous residency program. Orthodontists will be required to complete an orthodontic residency which lasts for about 2-3 years.
